Job Description:
Are you a qualified therapist or nurse with a postgraduate diploma in Behaviour Analysis and experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and autism?
Perhaps you’re a Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or currently a Behavioural Therapist looking for a new opportunity where you can positively impact the lives of others and make a difference.
Working across the London and Southeast region with two Associate Behaviour Support Practitioners to supervise and provide leadership to, you will support 18 care homes ranging from 5 to 12 beds, proving support to adults with a diagnosis of learning disabilities and complex needs, autism and sensory communication difficulties.
You’ll undertake behaviour assessments including functional analyses of new and existing residents and provide interpretations of findings and make recommendations to individual support plans, liaising and collaborating with the Therapy team and other multi-disciplinary teams.
As a Regional Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practice Lead you will:
* Work collaboratively with the Therapeutic Team to identify and implement evidence-based interventions based on a holistic understanding of individuals’ needs.
* Promote the effective incident management of behaviours that challenge, including any environmental changes, risk assessment or support plan updates emerging through post-incident support processes.
* Monitor and review incidents and suggest actions and care planning recommendations.
* Provide post-incident support to staff where the need/incident dictates.
* Review environments and ways of working to ensure they are least restrictive and trauma informed.
* Take part in regular professional supervision and appraisal.
* Actively engage with developments in the field of Behaviour Support and related disciplines
* Establish and maintain a rich framework of governance activities that enable the delivery of safe, ethical and effective services for the region
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Have a postgraduate diploma in Behavioural Analysis
* Be a qualified RNLD, Clinical Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Behavioural Therapist
* Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. NMC, HCPC)
* An excellent track record in a similar healthcare setting
* A passion for improving clinical quality and individual care
* Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to engage people
* To be confident, adaptable and resilient with a high degree of presence
