Job Description:
Are you a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist with experience in adult mental health services with membership of the British Psychological Society? If so, join Ballington House as a Clinical Associate Psychologist where you will be part of improving the mental health of women with mental health difficulties.
What you will be doing
You will be working autonomously on a day-to-day basis, under supervision from a Registered Practitioner Psychologist, undertaking psychological assessments, contributing to bespoke clinical formulations, delivering structured, evidence-based and psychologically informed interventions and undertaking agreed research activity.
As a Clinical Associate Psychologist, you will be working directly with service users providing psychological assessment and treatment. You will tailor interventions in collaboration with service users who are experiencing complex issues such as emotional instability, trauma, suicidality, attachment difficulties and self-harm.
As a Clinical Associate Psychologist, you will be:
* Communicating confidential and highly complex personal information concerning psychological needs, obtained through assessments and interventions, to referring agents and to the client themselves.
* Determining and undertaking appropriate psychological intervention, including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), a Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed approach, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
* Incorporating appropriate psychometric and clinical assessments to monitor therapeutic progress e.g. BDI-ii, behavioural monitoring etc.
* Planning for day-to-day clinical assessments and interventions takes place under the supervisor’s overall guidance through supervision provided by a registered Practitioner Psychologist.
* Providing written reports and assessments for professionals, clients, their families and other agencies.
To be successful in this role you will need:
* A professional qualification as a Clinical Associate Psychologist. Successful completion and award of a Level 7 Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) Masters training programme specialising in adult mental health.
* Current membership of the British Psychological Society and individual accreditation as a CAP once national accreditation schemes are available.
* Bachelor’s degree in psychology.
* Experience of working as a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist within the specific clinical area of practice: Adult Mental Health services.
* Experience of working effectively under supervision from a registered Practitioner Psychologist.
* Experience of contributing to the delivery of specific psychological therapies.
* Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

You will be working at Ballington House, a 10 bedded mental health rehabilitation hospital that provides services for women with complex mental health needs. The environment at Ballington House is a unique aspect of the service with care provided in one of six apartments which offer single and two person accommodation. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support women who often have complex mental health and co-morbid conditions including:
