Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Teacher and Access Arrangements / Dyslexia Assessor
Location: Bootle, Merseyside L30 2NA
Salary: (Scale 25-28) £33,945-£36,648 per annum

The Role
* Provide specialist teaching, support and advice for a range of pupils, professionals, parents, schools and other providers for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to support inclusion.
* Contribute to the early identification, assessment and intervention of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
* Be responsible for your own management and delivery of caseload as identified.
* Assist settings, schools and other providers to plan strategically in order to develop their provision of inclusion.
* Attend meetings as a representative SEND service as directed by Director of SEND.
* Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of provision for pupils and provide reports as required.
* To produce and review individual learning plans.
* Prepare pupils for exams e.g. study skills, revision and using their access arrangements.
* Support, develop and monitor internal systems in schools to ensure appropriate implementation and running of examination arrangements.
* Support and liaise with subject staff, SLT and the Trust as necessary.
* Attend regular CPD in order to keep up to date with the latest developments in SpLD/Dyslexia and SEND, as well as JCQ CIC and legislative changes.
Skills & Qualifications
* Level 7 Diploma in SpLD with qualifications to assess for Access Arrangements and Dyslexia
* Degree or equivalent
* Be a qualified specialist teacher or have appropriate teaching experience
* AMBDA (Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association) or AMBDA FE/HE (Further Education/Higher Education and Adults) or ATS (Approved Teacher Status), APS (Approved Practitioner Status) or ATS FE/HE
* Successful teaching of pupils with SEND
* Experience and expertise in supporting pupils with dyslexia
* Experience of working in a relevant field of education which includes working with pupils with SEND
