Job Description:
My client are seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure the company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as provide guidance on compliance matters. A great eye for detail and a business acumen are essential qualities for a successful compliance officer.Day to Day of the role: * Conduct risk & control assessments to understand the level, significance, and scope of regulatory risks.
* Perform self-audits across all levels and departments, ensuring timely remediation of any issues.
* Stay current with relevant laws and regulations and contribute to robust compliance controls within the organisation.
* Review and update business continuity plans, ensuring they are tested for all locations.
* Conduct first-line reviews of business contracts before escalating to Group Legal for approval.
* Investigate incidents and non-compliance issues and escalate areas of concern to the Chief Financial Officer.
* Act as the Data Privacy Officer, staying informed on current data protection laws.
* Collaborate with other departments to foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance.
* Lead the Health & Safety Committee, ensuring monthly meetings and follow-up on action items.
* Maintain business trademarks, including renewal and updates.
* Review marketing materials and websites for regulatory compliance.
* Assist the CFO with annual insurance renewals and perform general administrative duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Minimum of three years’ experience in risk management, preferably in the FMCG sector.
* Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
* Experience with internal audits.
* Proficient in critical problem-solving with the ability to analyse and interpret information.
* Strong project management skills.
* Ability to operate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
* Excellent communication skills.
