A newly created position has been established for an energetic, ambitious and hardworking Financial Controller to join this growing start-up on an initial 12-month fixed contract basis. This role compromises of transactional, strategic and operational tasks, reporting to a Finance Director in Belgium.
Financial Controller Responsibilities:
As the Financial Controller your key duties will include:
* Prepare timely and detailed reports for four entities
* Manage budgeting and forecasting processes
* Monitor cash flow balances
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and timely filing of tax returns and statutory accounts
* Liaise with external auditors
* Implement effective controls
* Conduct financial analysis to support decision making
* Oversee financial systems

Financial Controller Experience
This position would suit someone who has demonstrable experience across solid accounting tasks, as well as operational and strategic finance management. Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions would be helpful but is not essential. An excellent understanding of reporting, and advanced Excel capabilities are required. Strong communication levels, attention to detail, and a good sense of humour will allow you to thrive in this position. A positive, proactive and energetic individual, the successful candidate would be excited and happy to travel internationally to meet business requirements. This would be an excellent step up for an experienced and ready Management or Financial Accountant to grow their career into a Financial Controller position. Fluent Dutch speaking would be a bonus but is not required!
Location
This will be based in a rural location near Cumnor, Abingdon. It is essential that you drive and have your own transport.
There is flexible working, with 1 or 2 days per week in the office.
Candidates must be happy with international travel.
