Job Description:
M&G have a vision to become the best loved and most successful savings and investment business. They are looking for people who are excited about joining them on their journey. They are digitally transforming and investing heavily in technology and innovation to develop new and improved customer propositions that really raise the bar for their customers. To help them achieve their vision they’re looking for exceptional people who live their values and behaviours and who can inspire others; embrace change; deliver results and keep it simple.
Purpose of the Role:
This is a key leadership role in terms of delivery of the Finance Transformation plan. This role will define, drive, and oversee a large-scale business critical programme of change with complex outcomes that can cover the entire M&G organisation and relevant third parties. The colleague will be required to plan the full lifecycle of the programme and engage with change delivery and business SME teams, together with third parties and regulators as required.
As a Finance Portfolio Lead, you will:
* Play a critical role in translating strategy into implementation plans.
* Ensure successful planning, analysis, and implementation of defined strategy.
* Own the end-to-end delivery of medium to highly complex Finance projects, identifying key business stakeholders; leading on defining business cases, project objectives, scope, resources, and agreed set of expected benefits and outcomes.
* Provide a portfolio view of all programmes/projects, to understand doability but also correct sequencing of change initiatives, balanced against BAU activities.
* Identify and manage portfolio and programme risks and implement responses to them, managing delivery constraints and optimising the plans to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
* Be accountable for managing the relevant processes and approvals to secure funding and resources to deliver the programme.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, challenging decisions where appropriate to ensure a successful programme outcome.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience of working in a financial services industry (asset management / insurance)
* Financial reporting knowledge and skills
* Confident and effective communicator (both written and verbal) across all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-suite levels.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of stakeholders to build consensus and overcome challenges.
* Confident in leading and facilitating complex and large-scale workshops with senior stakeholders, with extensive programme management experience.
* Exceptional organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple resources, priorities, and deliverables to tight deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail with an ability to anticipate, prioritise and resolve complex issues using a variety of problem solving and analytical skills to ensure the business outcome and benefits are realised.
* Experience of developing proposals into business cases and mobilising end-to-end delivery of complex transformation programmes.
