Applegreen is the majority shareholder of Welcome Break and therefore our UK teams often work closely on a number of projects.
We are working together to find a new IT Project Manager for the Applegreen business. This is a group level role looking after our businesses both in the UK and Ireland as well as the USA.
The role is based in the UK from the Welcome Break head offices in Newport Pagnell.
Job Purpose
Applegreen operate world class service stations across the UK, IRE and the USA. We are one of the biggest operators in this sector, along with our operations in gas filling and EV.
At the core of this is our Group IT Programme team and world class Project Management team, and we’re looking for an IT Project Manager to join them. This varied and exciting role will own and manage a key project of implementing new sites from an IT perspective from the ground up with IT systems and applications. With exceptional communication and relationship management skills, the role will work closely with key business stakeholders, technical resources, and third-party providers in a fast-paced but hugely rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the successful coordination and delivery of business and technical projects on time, within budget and quality
* Continuously demonstrate excellent project management and delivery
* Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
* Develop a detailed project plans to set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor progress
* Prepare and issue status reporting to IT Leadership & Key Stakeholders
* Stakeholder and interdependency management, working across multiple external suppliers for specialist skills
* Quality control/procedures and processes
* Risk & change management
* Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
* Working closely with other Group regions such as Heads of IT Projects, Heads of Departments, IT Project Managers, Service Desk, BA’s, SA’s, DBA’s
Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
* Minimum 5 Years Project Management in similar industry, FMCG, Retail / Hospitality
* Proven ability to produce detailed plans, demonstrate full project control methodology and manage across multiple/concurrent high-profile IT projects
* Outstanding experience of delivering exceptional Project Management across multiple business departments e.g. Finance, Commercial, IT and Payroll etc
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Stakeholder Management
* Supplier Management expertise
* Business Analysis skills
* Creation of and maintaining comprehensive project documentation (i.e. Project Initiation, Controls, planning, MS Project, Proggio Portfolio Management tool (or similar))
* Negotiation skills
