What You Will Do
As the Navy Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market share within the Naval sector of GM&N. Your mission is to identify key projects, cultivate relationships with end users, shipyards, and influencers, and engage our sales organization to seize opportunities with a winning mindset.
This senior sales position within the GM&N commercial organization grants you the autonomy to align Naval market customer needs with our enterprise capabilities, crafting strategies for securing large and complex deals. You’ll be expected to establish and maintain high-level relationships with key prospects and enterprise accounts in the Naval market.
The Navy, Go to Market Initiative is recognized as a high-growth sector within GMN, supported by a dedicated team of core members and facilitators from our sales organization. As a core member, you will collaborate across the enterprise to identify and qualify new projects, leveraging our comprehensive solutions early in the discovery phase.
Understanding customer and stakeholder primary needs, decision drivers, and desired outcomes is crucial. Once a project is qualified, you will work within a team environment to nurture and develop opportunities, leading them to successful outcomes.
Leadership is critical to maintaining the growth room’s success. You must be assertive yet tactful in motivating facilitators to align and deliver on outcomes, managing complex business relationships and multiple resources through the process.
This highly networked role demands resilience under pressure, strong people management, and commercial skills. You must handle significant responsibility, stay calm under pressure, and carefully interpret instructions. Effective time management, efficiency, the ability to meet deadlines, and minimal supervision are essential.
Presentation skills are key; you should be an articulate, confident speaker with strong written communication skills.
How You Will Do It
Identify:
projects across the Naval Sector to qualify.
Lead:
early-stage discovery and research around each project.
Develop & Build Relationships:
with key end users, influencers, and marine consultants.
Cultivate Mutual Relationships:
with key yards within the Naval Sector.
Understand Stakeholder Needs:
and develop winning strategies.
Leverage Facilitators:
in the ’growth room’ to build effective teams.
Utilize Salesforce CRM:
to manage all activity.
What We Look For
* Experience in the Naval Sector.
* Proven experience as a Business Development Manager.
