About the Role: As an Advanced Social Worker, you will work within the framework of legislation, council policies, and procedures to improve the well-being and promote the independence of children, young people, and their families.
Key Accountabilities:
* Assess the needs of children and young people, identifying risk and the need for protection.
* Develop, coordinate, and deliver multi-agency plans to meet assessed needs and review them regularly.
* Identify unmet needs and gaps in service provision to inform resource allocation and service development.
* Engage other professionals, statutory, and voluntary agencies in service delivery.
* Manage an allocated workload of increased complexity with a level of autonomy.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the electronic management system.
* Participate in professional supervision sessions, staff meetings, and developmental opportunities.
* Contribute to the evaluation and development of services by sharing knowledge and best practices.
* Provide professional support to newly qualified and less experienced social work staff.
Requirements:
* Recognized qualification in social work (Dip/SW, BA, MA or equivalent).
* Social Work England Registration.
* Full UK driving license.
* Demonstrable post-qualification experience in children’s social work, including safeguarding and working with looked-after children.
* Knowledge of relevant legal frameworks (Children’s Act 1989, Children’s Act 2004, Adoption Regulations).
* Experience in planning and delivering support for children and their families, and/or carers.
* Effective time management, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage workload, take initiative, and work autonomously.
* Proven interagency working experience and skills.
Additional Information:
* This role is designated as an essential car user.
* Enhanced DBS [Plus Children’s/ Adults Barred list].
* Ability to work irregular and unsocial hours as required.
* Ability to travel across Staffordshire.
