Job Description:
Bookkeeper * Part-Time, Hybrid
* Location: Christchurch area
* Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum FTE (pro-rata for part-time)
We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join an established Accountancy Practice near Christchurch. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and is perfect for those looking for part-time hours. The successful candidate will support existing clients and the finance team, bringing current experience in bookkeeping within an accountancy practice or as a self-employed professional.
Day-to-day of the role: * Utilising Xero to process payments, invoices, income, and receipts; entering data into accounting software or databases and filing hard copies.
* Preparing financial statements that show business income and expenditure.
* Managing vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances.
* Completing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of any errors.
* Recording inconsistencies to assist Accountants in reconciling inaccuracies.
* Developing monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.
* Preparing employee wages and managing expense claims.
* Assisting the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within an accountancy practice or as a self-employed individual.
* Proficiency in using Xero accounting software is essential.
* Strong understanding of debits and credits, balance sheet accounts, and reconciliations.
* Knowledge of CIS Returns and VAT processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot numerical errors.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
