Engagement Officer
Salary: Circa £24,735 per annum
Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2025
Location: Covering Newcastle, Northumberland & North Tyneside
Based at: Annfield Plain, Stanley

About the role
As an Engagement Officer, you will manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored 1:1 and group support to help them overcome barriers to employment. You will guide participants in accessing job search resources, volunteering opportunities, employment, training, and self-employment options, whilst helping them address barriers and achieve their aspirations.
In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing new referrals, primarily targeting economically inactive individuals. You will complete enrolment paperwork, including development plans and eligibility checks. Additionally, you will attend events and present the delivery model to referral sources to attract new participants. Occasionally, you may need to work outside of normal hours to meet the needs of the role.

A bit about you
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the welfare-to-work sector and a thorough understanding of the voluntary and community sector. You will bring exceptional interpersonal skills to the role, enabling you to effectively support participants in building their confidence and motivation. Your goal will be to help them achieve their personal and professional aspirations.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all services provided are of the highest quality and consistently meet the needs of the participants. This role demands a proactive, empathetic, and organised individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the community.
