Are you an experienced social worker looking to lead a dynamic team dedicated to improving the lives of children in care and care-experienced young people? Medway Council is seeking a passionate and skilled Team Manager to join our Children in Care team.
Main Purpose of Job:
As the Team Manager, you will:
* Lead, manage, and coach a team of newly qualified and experienced social workers and personal advisors.
* Improve outcomes for looked-after children and care-experienced young people through effective partnership working.
* Contribute to delivering the council’s Corporate Parenting vision for Children in Care and Care Leavers.
* Ensure compliance with the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) at the Advanced Social Worker level and the Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for practice supervisors.
Key Corporate Accountabilities:

* Understand and support the commitment to preventing crime and disorder.
What We Are Looking For:
* Qualified Social Worker with substantial post-qualifying experience (minimum 5 years).
* Proven experience in statutory work with children and families, managing high levels of social complexity and risk of harm.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in providing professional supervision.
* Knowledge and experience with ’Signs of Safety’ practice model (desirable).
* Ability to build productive relationships with colleagues, partners, and other staff.
* Competence in using Microsoft Office packages and electronic integrated children’s systems (desirable).
* Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Person Specification:
* Car driver with daily use of a car for business purposes.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective supervision.
* Understanding of Social Work England’s professional standards.
