Job Description:
SJC Partners have been retained exclusively by an award winning Top 50 UK Law Firm to recruit a Business Development Director to shape and build a Business Development function on behalf of their corporate team.
The corporate team has been a stand-out performer within the business over recently years with a number of high-profile client wins and transactions executed (most notably acting on behalf of a number of PE Houses and acting for the management of a range of high profile corporate clients in a deals worth up to £700m EV). The successful individual will be expected to:
* Showcase these deals to the wider market (i.e similar corporate entities) with the aim of winning new mandates.
* Research targets in specific sectors, thereafter building relationships with the view to onboarding new clients, leveraging prior sector-relevant deals.
* Set up meetings for specialist Partners/attend jointly/running initial meeting yourself.
* Develop end-client and intermediary relationships; an ability to build relationships with PE Houses, other Law firms, Banks, M&A advisors and Accountancy firms is required.
* Shape and build a support team around yourself e.g Administrator, Researcher as you gather momentum.
* Attend regular meetings with Partners across the UK to strengthen your brand internally.
* Work closely with a highly talented internal marketing and brand team who will support the successful individual with outreach/marketing materials/Business Development projects.
Applicants should be in an existing Business Development/Origination role within a legal, accountancy or professional services firm. It would be helpful to have a network of clients and intermediaries to generate work introductions from (but by no means is this a pre-re requisite). Naturally, you will be a high energy, tenacious and pro-active character with a ’hunter’ mentality regarding work winning and targeting new business.
This represents an outstanding role for an individual to build, shape and spearhead a Business development function within an award winning Top50 legal Law firm. This role is offering a market leading salary and bonus.
