Job Description:
We are looking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Band 6 midwives to join the Elective Caesarean Section Team, dedicated to holistically supporting a woman’s journey during the elective caesarean section process. The trust is one of the largest in London, providing maternity care with a multi-professional and dynamic team working together to provide the best care for women and their families.
Description:
This is a clinical role, caring for women pre-operatively, in theatre, and providing post-operative care. The Elective Team will support the smooth running of the Elective list, Monday-Friday with the occasional Saturday list and will ensure all women on the pathway receive pre-operative assessment, education, and appropriate bloods. You will be responsible for recovering the women post-operatively, demonstrating skills in enhanced recovery, breastfeeding support, and wound care and management. You will work as part of the MDT and make referrals and escalate where appropriate.
You will be supported by practice leaders, PMAs, and the PDM team to build on your skills and confidence as you progress through your midwifery career.
For this role, day shifts are required.
Requirements:
* Valid NMC registration as a Midwife.
* Proven experience in midwifery practice.
* Works well in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative efforts and supporting team members.
* Communicates effectively at all levels, ensuring clarity and understanding in both written and oral forms.
* Engages with clients empathetically about treatments and procedures, ensuring they feel understood and supported.
* Demonstrates an enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly demeanor, fostering a positive environment.
* Understands own Knowledge and Skills Framework, identifies learning needs, and actively participates in learning activities, keeping detailed records.
* Works within set timeframes, prioritizes tasks effectively, and meets deadlines while monitoring the quality of work.
* Uses all midwifery skills in various settings, participates in health promotion activities, accurately records patient assessments, and performs essential midwifery procedures, including handling obstetric emergencies.
