Teaching Assistant

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Temporary -Term Time Only (Temporary to permanent roles are available)
Hours: Monday-Friday (Full-Time - 8:30am-3:00pm)
Daily Rate: £85-£95 a day
Start Date: September 2024
About Us:
Veritas Education are working with a vibrant and inclusive primary special school. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for the students. The students have a range of needs including learning difficulties, Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons for students with special educational needs.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential.
* Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Assist with classroom management and administrative tasks.
* Collaborate with other professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with young people and/or adults with challenging behaviour and Social and Emotional Mental Health needs is essential.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management principles and positive behaviour support strategies.
* Be Level 2 Team Teach trained or be willing to attend the training course offered by Veritas.
* Safeguarding training is essential, this can be offered by Veritas.
* Level 2 safeguarding training is essential, this can be offered by Veritas.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the dynamic nature of the role.
* Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
* Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
