About the role:
We are seeking a self-motivated and knowledgeable Pensions Trustee Associate to join the experienced professional Trusteeship team. The role is perfect for a pensions professional eager to enhance and support the development of the trusteeship business and embark on or further develop a career as a professional trustee.
The successful candidate will support experienced Trustees in delivering excellent trusteeship services and contribute to the development of our portfolio of appointments. Your role will focus on providing effective governance of pension schemes, including scheme secretariat services. In addition to this, you will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, managing key deliverables, and ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities:
* Progress scheme business plan tasks and actions, ensuring statutory timeframes are met.
* Plan and prepare Scheme / trustee meetings, including preparing agenda and meeting packs.
* Draft and distribute minutes and agreed actions regularly.
* Review scheme budgets and ensure invoices are within agreed budgets and settled within terms.
* Arrange regular internal team meetings to discuss and agree on ongoing actions.
* Handle individual member queries promptly and efficiently.
* Overseer and update key scheme compliance and governance documentation.
Experience required:
* 3-5 years’ experience as a pension professional, with a solid background in either pension administration, scheme secretariat, pensions manager, or pension consultancies practise.
* Experience of understanding the coordination of trustee meetings, producing draft minutes, and managing matters arising.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to liaise with and manage trustee advisers to ensure key deliverables.
* Knowledge of pension legislation, regulations, and other aspects of pensions law and practice, including scheme governance, management, and compliance.
* Proficient in project and budget management
* Evidence of client management responsibilities and strong relation / client management skills
Desirable criteria:
* Working towards or successfully completed a relevant Professional Qualification (such as APMI or FPMI).
* Knowledge and experience with the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) and understanding of The Pensions Regulator (TPR).
* Good understanding of winding up a pension scheme.
