A family support worker is a professional who provides practical and emotional support to families facing challenges. They work with a variety of families, from those experiencing short-term difficulties to those dealing with long-term problems.

Responsibilities:
* Assess families’ needs and strengths
* Develop and implement support plans in collaboration with families and other professionals
* Provide emotional support and guidance
* Offer practical help, such as budgeting advice, parenting classes, or help finding childcare
* Make referrals to other services, such as housing or mental health support
* Advocate for families and ensure their voices are heard
* In some cases, work to prevent children from entering care
