Our client is looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant with accounts payable and receivable experience to join their finance team. They are well established environmental services provider located in Knutsford. Till the end of September, the role will be based in their Knutsford office and will be moved to new site in Daresbury from 1st of October.
Initially role will be full time office based and after relocation they will implement hybrid model (2 days home working and 3 days on-site).
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
* Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure proper coding and approval.
* Manage and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
* Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files and records.
* Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely payment of invoices.
* Handle complex payment issues and escalate as necessary.
Accounts Receivable:
* Generate and send out invoices to customers in a timely manner.
* Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely collections.
* Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
* Manage customer accounts, process refunds, and handle client billing queries.
* Prepare and distribute regular AR aging reports to management.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments.
* General Accounting and Administrative Duties:
* Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
* Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant accounting standards.
* Provide support to the finance team on various projects and initiatives as needed.
* Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and information.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Account Clerk or in a similar role
* Proficiency in accounting software SAP, MS Office and Excel
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
* Knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Good communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders
* Driving license (to commute between sites)
