Job Advert: Head of Business Development
Location: Remote with national travel covering England and Scotland
Salary: Up to £72,000 + £6,000 Company Car Allowance
Benefits:

Company Overview: Join a highly recognised Training Provider with over 60 years of experience, operating in Scotland, England, and Wales, and employing around 400 people. This company has an excellent reputation for providing exceptional training and development opportunities.
Role Overview: The Head of Business Development will develop and implement strategies to drive significant growth in apprentice and commercial learner volumes and income. The role involves cultivating key employer and sector relationships, leading stakeholder projects, and managing marketing and communication plans.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Business Development:
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline to drive business growth.
• Contribute to business planning and performance tracking.
• Cultivate knowledge about key employers, sectors, and opportunities.
• Lead strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
• Manage promotion activities and identify new opportunities.
• Provide comprehensive reporting and analysis to drive strategic decisions.
• Achieve ambitious sales targets and enhance brand visibility.
• Lead and motivate the Business Development Team.
• Identify and submit growth-supporting bids.
• Manage team performance and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
• Influence senior leaders to support growth.
• Promote individual, team, and organisational development.
• Uphold principles and standards for effective team functioning.
• Represent the organisation’s values and behaviours, promoting a positive culture.

Knowledge and Experience of the Head of Business Development:
• Leadership experience with strategic and operational responsibilities.
• Proven track record in leading sales and business development teams in the FE or commercial training sector.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in the Work-Based Learning / Apprenticeship Sector in England and Scotland.
• Strong business development and account management skills.
• Financial acumen and ability to forecast income.
• Proven track record in assessing bid opportunities and delivering successful bids.
• Knowledge of the construction skills industry in education would be highly desirable.

This role will involve national travel, so flexibility to stay overnight is essential.
