We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Theatre Nurse for one of the Trusts in London to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
* Clinical Care: Assess patient needs independently, develop and evaluate care plans, and perform nursing procedures following Trust policies to ensure high standards of evidence-based care.
* Patient Communication: Communicate empathetically with patients and their families regarding surgical assessments, care, and treatments while ensuring accurate and comprehensive nursing records.
* Infection Control: Implement and support infection control practices, participate in audits, and maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, working closely with the infection control team to manage risks.
* Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote effective communication and a collaborative approach to patient care, while supervising and training unqualified staff.
* Management Duties: Assist in orienting new staff, maintain effective working relationships, investigate incidents and complaints, and ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
* Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a role model, co-mentor, and preceptor for healthcare assistants, students, and returning staff, supporting their development and maintaining confidentiality and patient safety.
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration/ODP
* Experience in theatre nursing
* Awareness of clinical issues within the theatre department
* Knowledge of developments within the profession
* Ability to work as part of a team within set boundaries
* Ability to prioritize workload
