On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Structured Products Middle Office Operation Specialists
for a 12-month
long contract based in London
. It is a hybrid model.
Purpose of the role:

The role of SPMO is to support the Structured Credit & Rates front office business lines. You will also support a variety of other Fixed Income desks where complex structures or ad-hoc bookings are involved including Global Macro IR & FXLM products. The team supports a portfolio of complex transactions to ensure each of them is booked accurately and all life cycle events are properly processed.
As a Structured Products Middle Office Operation Specialists, you will be:

* Assisting in facilitating the deployment of a strong operational control environment within the Structured Products Middle Office team.
* Ensuring deals are represented correctly in the Bank’s booking systems, conformed to all legal documentation terms adequately stored and controlled throughout the transaction lifetime.
* Ensuring that all allocated Level 1 and Level 2 controls have been performed on new structured transactions and recorded in the relevant SPMO monitoring tool.
* Ensuring that all breaks across the controls performed are understood & resolved within the agreed targets/SLAs.
* Ensuring that root causes for underlying breaks are tracked, understood and resolved contributing to a healthy control environment.
* Recommending improvements where appropriate in line with best practice.
* Contributing to production reporting, meetings and SLA review.
* Analysing alignment between client needs and Ops set-up and processes, to ensure it can deliver the best possible service for our clients in the most efficient manner possible.
* Reporting KPIs/KRIs on a regular basis to management, reviewing them frequently to ensure they are updated. Contribute to the definition of an action plan to remediate any deficiency and create new KPIs/KRIs as required.
* Analysing incidents having an impact on the overall process and contribute to the definition of action plans.
What we’re looking for:

* Material experience working in control functions within an investment bank.
* In-depth knowledge of financial instruments as well as the front-to-back chains on the Structured Products Middle Office perimeter.
* Good theoretical & working knowledge and experience of fixed income, equities credit, rates, FX & structured products.
* Number of years working in either Credit or Rates Middle Office functions.
* Good working knowledge and understanding of operational risk and permanent control framework.
* Detailed knowledge of specific operational principles and processes and able to translate knowledge and experience into recommendations to improve practices.
* Positive and dynamic attitude to complying with deadlines and objectives.
* Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload and escalate issues to management.
