Job Description:
Fabricator / Welder
Working hours: 46 hours per week - Mixed Day/Night shifts (Set shifts may be considered)
Nights ( MON TO THURS )
Days (MON TO THURS) / (FRI)
Salary: £33k with an extra 3k on top for shift allowance.
Job type: Permanent
Location: Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
As a welder fabricator, you will be responsible for joining different metals using a variety of techniques. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical drawings, occasional tests may be required depending on client requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Various aspects of welding & fabrication
* Interpret engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded
* General mechanical skills
* Ensure production timings are met
* Create specific weldment set- ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
* Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
* Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
* Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
* Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
* Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
* Maintain a clean and safe work area
Education & Training
* Apprentice trained or time served fabricator/welder with proven experience (Preferred)
* Basic computer navigation and utilization skills (preferred)
* Specific technical or vocational training or certification (preferred)
Knowledge & Experience
* Ability to weld manually using both GMAW & GTAW processes
* Robotic welding (advantageous)
* Experience in the use of overhead crane would be an advantage
* Knowledge and experience in exotic materials such as: duplex and austenitic steels but not limited to
Skills & Abilities
* Able to work from engineering drawings and work under minimal supervision to reasonable timescales
* Exceptionally high personal standards, taking pride in the quality of your work
* Hard working and motivated
* Ability to work effectively and use own initiative
* High attention to detail
* Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
* Manual handling
