Job Description:
Harper May is collaborating with a prominent real estate asset management firm focused on enhancing property investments. With a robust portfolio across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, they are dedicated to delivering superior returns and sustainable growth. They are currently seeking a seasoned Group Financial Controller to join their finance team based in Central London.
Role Overview:
As the Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations and strategy for the group. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting across diverse portfolios. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence strategic decisions and drive financial excellence within a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the group.
* Manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulatory standards, and timely delivery of financial statements.
* Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support decision-making by senior management and investment teams.
* Lead financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and disposals, assessing financial risks and opportunities.
* Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financing activities to optimise capital structure and investment returns.
* Collaborate closely with property managers and investment analysts to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
* Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance and transparency.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in financial management within the real estate asset management or property investment sectors.
* Proven track record in a senior finance role, demonstrating leadership, strategic thinking, and financial acumen.
* Strong understanding of real estate financial models, valuation techniques, and industry-specific accounting standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in financial reporting software.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead a high-performing finance team.
