Your new role
You will be working as part of the on-site estates department working across various building types, including office blocks, laboratories & research & development operatives. The work will include:
* Routine Inspections: Regularly inspecting electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
* Fault Identification: Identifying faults or hazards within the system.
* Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving system failures.
* Blueprint Understanding: Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement.
* Testing: Using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters to test electrical systems.
* Repairs: Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.
* Fault Response: Promptly responding to fault requests.
* Equipment Replacement: Providing recommendations for equipment replacement.
* Reports: Writing electrical maintenance reports.
* Appliance Installation: Installing new electrical appliances in the building.
* Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety and performance standards
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need to be a fully UK qualified 18th Edition Electrician, ideally with experience in a maintenance role. Due to the location of the site, you will need to have a UK driving licence. There is an on call element to this position which is worked out on a generous rota.
