Job Description:
Locum Band 5 Biomedical Scientist Role
Location: Northwest England
Experience Requirements: Paid NHS UK experience is highly preferred.
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 1st December 2024
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform histological procedures accurately and efficiently.
* Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and health and safety regulations.
* Analyze and interpret laboratory results with attention to detail.
* Maintain accurate records of experiments, tests, and analyses.
About Hospital: The key functions of the hospital are as below:
* Diagnostic Testing: Conducts a wide range of diagnostic tests essential for patient care and treatment planning.
* Specializations: Includes areas such as microbiology, hematology, histopathology, and cytology, catering to the diverse needs of the hospital’s clinical departments.
* Technology and Equipment: Utilizes advanced laboratory equipment and technology to ensure accurate and efficient testing.
* Quality Assurance: Implements rigorous quality control measures to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability in test results.
* Research and Development: Actively participates in research initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance diagnostic capabilities and patient outcomes.
* Collaboration: Works closely with clinicians, healthcare professionals, and other departments to provide timely and comprehensive laboratory services.
* Education and Training: Supports the training and development of staff, including biomedical scientists in training, to uphold professional standards and promote career advancement.
* Health and Safety: Adheres to strict health and safety protocols to safeguard staff and maintain a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
* UK experience in NHS setup preferred. Paid UK experience is mandatory.
* Demonstrable experience in histology within a clinical laboratory setting.
Desirable Qualities:
* Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
* Experience in quality control and assurance processes.
