A prestigious and award-winning contractor specialising in Building Conservation and Restorationis is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Westminster, London.
The Quantity Surveyor’s Role
* Manage the commercial aspects of diverse construction projects with a focus on heritage and conservation work.
* Analyse and interpret tender documents.
* Negotiate contract terms with subcontractors.
* Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
* Compile and present monthly cost and value reconciliations.
* Prepare and submit interim and final valuations to clients.
* Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors.
* Work collaboratively with the project team to meet budget and project goals.
* Work on project values of up to £5 million, averaging between £2-3 million.
* Office-based with occasional travel to site 1-2 days per week.
The Quantity Surveyor
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK construction industry.
* Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, preferably in the heritage and conservation sector.
* In-depth knowledge of JCT contracts; NEC experience is advantageous.
* Proficiency in Microsoft software suite (Excel, Word, Project).
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Valid driving license is desirable.
* A strong understanding of heritage construction methods and materials is preferred, though training will be provided.
