Day-to-day of the role: * Oversee the processing of SDLT refund cases from start to finish, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
* Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of client documentation to determine eligibility for SDLT refunds.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, offering expert advice and regular updates on case progress.
* Prepare and submit accurate refund claims to HMRC, maintaining meticulous records and documentation.
* Generate detailed reports on case outcomes and performance metrics.
* Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and best practices, and mentor junior staff to enhance their professional development.
* Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and SDLT regulations, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * A robust background in tax and/or law, with a focus on SDLT preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Law, Accounting, or a related field.
* Relevant professional certifications in tax are highly desirable.
* Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in case management software and tools.
* A proactive and results-driven work ethic, capable of managing multiple cases and meeting tight deadlines.
