Accounting Manager
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, after a successful probation period of 3-months
Location: Crewe
Working Hours: 37.5 hour per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: 45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Electric Vehicles “EV” charging infrastructure represents one of the hottest markets and one of the most critical needs as the world shifts from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric-driven transportation. EVs include motorcycles, cars, pickup trucks, vans, boats, and ATV’s.
Qmerit was launched to facilitate “The Electrification of Everything” at scale. Combining our purpose-built digital managed services software platform with our nationwide network of certified electrical contractors, Qmerit manages the end-to-end service delivery process, and providing unmatched quality experiences related to the adoption of electric vehicle charging stations, battery storage systems, solar system integration, emergency power, and microgrid solutions.
The Role – Accounting Manager:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the financial statement process including AP/AR, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, payroll and VAT compliance.
As the leader of the UK Finance team, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop proper procedures and internal controls for this start-up organisation and build a team that is ready to grow with Qmerit.
You will report directly to the US Controller with daily reporting to the UK Director. This role will be integral to the successful execution of the new business, which will result in growth of Qmerit’s EV infrastructure business, sustainable new revenue sources, and further extension of our market leadership.
Key Responsibilities – Accounting Manager:
* Responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS. Plans, implements and supervises financial strategy.
* Plays a key role in the budgeting and forecasting process. Collaborate with other departments to develop financial plans, analyse variances, and provide insights to support decision-making.
* Handle VAT, corporate tax, and other tax-related matters.
* Accounts Payable: Record all invoices and oversee the process to ensure the timely and accurate allocation, approval, and payment of invoices.
* Accounts Receivable: Oversee sales invoice processing and AR inbox management. Manage aged debtors review.
* Procurement: Develop work order and procurement process for EVSE charge-points.
* Assist in developing logistics process for B2C deliveries of electrical vehicle charge-points.
* Management of work orders, tracking of inventory, and administering multiple invoicing
* Oversee daily and weekly accounting operations.
* Work on the automation of financial flows to enhance efficiency.
* Propose tailored development plans, teach, and share knowledge.
* Build an effective, motivated, and complementary team as we continue to grow.
* Design, implement, and monitor processes, controls, and systems.
* Work directly with sales, operation, and customer service teams.
* Serve as the primary contact for country-level external financial communication.

* Minimum 5 years of experience in any related job or bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or business administration.
* ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
* Expertise in establishing and maintaining internal control systems.
* Proficient with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Understands of local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Proficiency with local and international taxation regulations and compliance including VAT.
* Proficiency with NetSuite and third-party integrated applications is a plus.
* Expertise with logistics or procurement software and process (work orders, inventory tracking, multiple invoicing).
* Previous experience managing a team.
