Position: Hostel Chef
Stating form 22nd July to 16th August, with possibility of extension
Shift Timing: 2pm - 8pm (or 3pm-8pm, 1pm -7pm (ideally 2-8pm)
Work Schedule: 5 days per week, including weekends
Job Description:
Wild Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Chef for our client, a hostel based in the vibrant Kemptown area of Brighton. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and potentially extend your contract based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare meals including main course and pudding.
* Complete all checks and legal paperwork on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
* Ensure all dietary requirements are met.
* Maintain budgetary controls.
* Order and manage all food stock, ensuring proper rotation.
* Utilise fareshare donated food received three times a week.
* Ensure sufficient and appropriate food is available for the weekend staff to cook.
* Direct the Kitchen Porter in cleaning and clear-up duties.
Requirements:
* Must be DBS checked.
* Possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Experience in cooking for a minimum of 50+ people.
* Proficiency in bulk cooking.
* Flexibility to perform other duties within the kitchen as required.
