About the Role

Base Location: Perth or Glasgow
Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus up to 10% + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
SSE Thermal is recruiting for an Accountant to join the team. This is an exciting time to join as SSE Thermal positions itself to be the leading provider of flexible energy in a low carbon world. The role will deliver financial support across the portfolio, with varied tasks in a complex and fast paced arena.
As we are undergoing a finance wide transformation of our systems, as well as making changes to adapt UK SOX, therefore ad hoc project support may be required. 
- Month end close.
- Balance sheet reconciliations including stock and Fixed asset registers.
- Preparation of statutory accounts.
- Supporting the audit process.
What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to be:
- Fully qualified accountant with a recognised body with 1-2 years post qualified experience, ideally in a similar role.
- Have the ability to work to tight timescales whilst maintaining high standards.
- Diligent and methodical in approach, whilst being willing to support ad hoc activities.
- Have strong knowledge of core financial systems (ideally Oracle) and proficient in MS Office applications.
- Willing to both challenge and support colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
