Job Description:
Job Title: Benefit Team Leader
Job description: A Local Authority in Scotland is looking for a Benefit Team Leader on a temporary basis until November 2024 to provide professional expertise for the organisation. The Local Authority want some occasional onsite attendance, but the frequency can be negotiated.
Duties:
* Managing a team of 10 Benefit staff
* Prioritising workload and allocating work out to the team
* Providing leadership, direction and day to day support to the benefits and discretionary payments members and work with other staff to improve all their processes
* Understanding the end-to-end processes relevant for the team and ensuring staff adhere to all process and control requirements
* Ensuring compliance with all council procedures and regulations relevant to the team and escalating and reporting any non-compliance
* Maintaining a strong performance management environment with the team
