REED are currently working with an excellent specialist home based in Meldreth, Royston. The home provides residential living facilities for children and young adults with profound learning difficulties and complex health needs.
Some residents are very independent whilst others require more support. Some of the residents are non-verbal and use Makaton, for which training is provided.
You will help the residents everyday with personal care and all aspects of home life as a Support Worker, from getting dressed and doing laundry in the morning, to attending therapy sessions during the day, to going to bed at night.
Facilities include:

* A skills centre that teaches life skills, arts & crafts, cooking, and the value of money at this adult home
All of this is done to encourage resident independence.
As a Support Worker you will:
* Be paid from £11.72- £12.20/hr (higher rate if you have NVQ Level 3)
* Equivalent to £24,368- 25,376
* Receive a welcome bonus of £1,500* T’s & C’s apply
* Receive a thorough induction and training programme
* Have access to a fully funded Level 3 Diploma after 6 months of probation
Responsibilities:
* Provide person-centred care in line with care plans.
* Build appropriate rapport with residents to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
* Attend to the practical, physical, and emotional needs including personal care.
* Complete written reports and documentation daily
* Liaise with families and other health professionals
* Work shift patterns including alternate weekends.
