Your new company
Your new company is a diverse group based in the Blackpool area. This business is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join the team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Financial Controller will have overall responsibility for all the accounting records produced within the Group and associated companies. They will ensure that all statutory records are reported in true compliance with accounting records and relevant legislation.

Your new role
The Financial Controller will ensure quality control of financial transactions and financial reporting, whilst also being responsible for relationships with external auditors. They will develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Day-to-day responsibility for cash flow management, accounts payable and credit control

* Day to day supervision and management of the accounts payable team.
* Ensure all daily accounting processes are adhered to following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) guidelines in place.
* Continually update and improve all accounting SOPs.
* Ensure all direct report within the finance team have objectives in place and a personal development plan addressing any training requirements.
* Responsible for producing the consolidated accounts for the Group and any associate companies.
* Review the monthly management account packs produced by the FP&A Finance team. Providing challenge where necessary.
* Carry out monthly reviews with FP&A Finance teams on all balance sheet accounts, ensuring that appropriate reconciliations are to an extremely high standard.
* Lead and manage the cashflow forecasting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
* Lead, manage and review and control of:
* Purchase ledger balances.
* Aged debt balances.
* Cash books and control of inter-company balances (both trade & nominal).
* Stock holding.
* Review all prepayments & accruals monthly.
* Responsible for all aspects of VAT, ensuring all submissions are done on a timely basis.
* Provide the COO with a monthly cash report.
* Responsible for production of all year end statutory accounts and tax packs.
* Manage any day-to-day banking activity
* Develop relationships with credit insurers and provide them with quarterly updates.
* Manage the year end auditors and all other external Finance consultants.
* Manage and ensure a smooth year end audit and that the audit packs are complete and accurate.

What you’ll need to succeed
* ACA or ACCA Qualified 
* Excellent IT skills especially in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Sage experience (beneficial but not essential)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
