Job Description:
Locum Biomedical Scientist (Band 4, 5, or 6)
Specialization: Cancer Histopathology
Location: East Midlands
Contract: Temporary (ASAP - 3 months from start date)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
* Perform microtomy, embedding, and microscopic quality control of histological samples.
* Support clerical duties such as booking in on the lab information system.
* Prepare manual special stains as required (dependent on experience).
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a UK laboratory setting is mandatory.
* Competent in cutting at least 30 blocks per hour, including complex cases.
* Band 4, 5, or 6 Biomedical Scientist qualification or equivalent.
