Job Description:
The Finance Officer position requires a proficient individual with a keen eye for detail who can effectively manage financial data and support the Accounting & Finance department of a not-for-profit organisation in Birmingham. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of finance regulations and be adept at interpreting financial information.

Our client is a highly respected not-for-profit organisation in the charity sector, with operations across the country. They are one of the leading providers of support services to vulnerable individuals, employing over 1000 dedicated staff members. Their main office is located in Birmingham.
Description
The duties of the Finance Officer are to;
* Manage financial transactions and documentation.
* Responsible for administering the service charge cycle for the Group’s customers.
* Work within the team to monitor and calculate actual service charge costs, ensuring information to customers is accurate and clear.
* Calculate service charge estimates and ensure customers understand why costs have increased/decreased for the coming year.
* Ensuring that the charges are correct and relevant, in line with the various legal contracts
* Liaise with other departments to obtain accurate information regarding new schemes or services and ensuring their legality.
Profile
A successful Finance Officer should have:
* A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
* Service charge experience
* Experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
* Proficiency in financial software programs and MS Office applications.
* Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
* A strong understanding of financial regulations and procedures.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
