Job Description:
A profitable and successful facilities management contractor is seeking a self-motivated and dynamic Senior Facilities Manager to join their team in Essex.
The Senior Facilities Manager
The Senior Facilities Manager will be exposed to significant opportunities with large turnovers, leading to substantial profits. This role offers room for internal progression and the potential to gain shares within the business, providing tangible rewards for hard work.
The company has established strong relationships with its competitors, enhancing business profits and fostering honourable partnerships. You will also have access to the company’s own subcontractors, including its M&E arm.
Other crucial responsibilities include:
* Support the director with volume work
* Liaise with clients and subcontractors
* Arrange subcontractors
* Manage performance and budgets
* React to urgent jobs
* Handle work phone management
* Cross-sell services
* Cover the director’s annual leave
* Maintain a constant workflow of new and existing clients
* Bring on new clients and subcontractor connections
* Attend business meetings and provide improvement advice
* Support invoicing
* Ensure timely delivery of planned work
* Travel as required (potential areas include London, Bristol, Scotland, Essex, Hertfordshire, Sussex, and Kent)
The Senior Facilities Manager
* Previous experience as a Senior Facilities Manager for a contractor
* Proven track record of having own clients and subcontractor connections
* Knowledge of statutory standards and requirements for the safe management of public buildings
* Understanding of building-related statutory obligations (e.g., DDA, fire risk assessments, asbestos, gas safety, legionella, CDM)
* Desirable experience in M&E, Gas, Refurb, and Repairs
* Adherence to Health and Safety regulations
* Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
* Availability to work outside normal business hours
* IOSH/NEBOSH certification
* Degree or appropriate technical qualification at a higher level (e.g., BTECH HNC/HND in construction or property-related discipline)
* Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., RICS, CIBSE, BIFM)
* Strong problem-solving skills
