SSE Smart Buildings are recruiting for a BMS Controls Engineer to join the team at Imperial College London. Due to continued growth within the region, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BMS Controls Engineer to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at one of the world’s leading universities, ensuring the optimal performance of our Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).
You will be working in diverse building environments including Data Centres, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Laboratory & Research, Higher Education, Student Accommodation, and Leisure Facilities. Flexibility is required to support the customer requirements, in line with the operating hours of the campuses.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Manage and maintain the Building Management Systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency across the campus.
* Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Junior Engineers, the Site Operator, and the Site Coordinator to integrate and maintain building systems.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to BMS, minimising downtime and ensuring system reliability, support the implementation of BMS small works, including system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
* Continuously monitor system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments and maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
* Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental regulations and Imperial College London’s policies.
What do I need?
* Proficiency in BMS software and hardware, with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Experience with systems such as Trend, Honeywell, or Siemens is preferred.
* Experience in BMS controls engineering or a similar role.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Relevant certifications in BMS or energy management are advantageous but not required.
