Job Description:
We need a passionate and experienced mental health nurse to work in a well-established team at a Trust in West Midlands.
Description:
Your role will be to act as the key nurse assessing and planning nursing care requirements on a one-to-one basis. You will be the patient advocate, supporting family members and carers to be as involved as required.
* Work in accordance with SWFT Nursing Strategy and contribute to achieving SWFT strategic objectives.
* Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined patient, taking responsibility for: * Protecting and supporting the health of an individual patient.
* Assessing care and health education needs.
* Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care.
Skills:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a mental health setting.
* Knowledge and experience of adult safeguarding procedures.
* Ability to restrain patients using approved techniques.
* Handling and appropriately storing patient valuables.
* Ability to deal with emotional and distressing situations.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Respect for the privacy and dignity of individuals.
* Ability to manage difficult situations.
* Ability to cope with exposure to aggressive behavior.
* Ability to plan own workload.
* Knowledge of Mental Health presentations and appropriate interventions.
* Understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct.
* Knowledge of risk management and how to plan care to account for risk.
