Job Description:
I am recruiting a Compliance Manager role on behalf of a successful, international business based in the Huntingdon area. The role is being offered initially as a 6 month fixed term contract, although there is potential that it could become permanent.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for leading Compliance actions and activities identified during a recent round of audits to enhance SOX compliance. 

Duties include;

* Create a project plan & manage the effective set-up & roll-out of Blackline, ensuring system benefits are fully realised
* Support the team in addressing control weaknesses identified during recent audits (remediation actions) & design a robust way to ensure sustainment of said controls
* Update SOX testing by performing independent testing & reviewing
* Perform timely balance sheet reviews. Provide constructive feedback to the Team for improvements & drive completion of actions
* Maintain visual management tools to identify open gaps/actions, & support the local accounting team to implement processes to close the gaps
* Identify & document the Electronic Audit Evidence requirements for each balance sheet & regular journal. Provide these standards to the Accounting Team & ensure sustainment
* Collaborate with the Financial Controller, Corporate Compliance team, parent company and other departments (e.g., legal, finance, internal audit) to ensure alignment on compliance initiatives and resolve issues as they arise

Interested candidates should be qualified; ACA/ACCA or equivalent with relevant experience in accounting, audit, internal controls and/or compliance functions. You will possess strong experience of accounting and internal finance policies, including revenue recognition and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), coupled with good communication skills and the ability to coach finance colleagues on compliance and control topics. 

Candidates with experience of working for a larger audit firm would be advantageous or with a background in Internal Audit.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, you will be required to be in the office three days per week. The role is due to start ASAP, although the client can wait until the beginning of September at the latest.
