Job Description:
Avenues is a place where people smile, laugh and grow – and achieve extraordinary things.
Do you have a passion and extensive knowledge of autism and learning disability? Are you a dedicated trainer? Would you like to work with a friendly, experienced and dedicated training team? If so, then why not apply to become a Specialist Trainer within our Learning and Development team.
Our Learning & Development Partners already deliver a range of health and social care training subjects and we are now looking for a full time additional trainer to join our team to focus on Autism, Learning Disability, Epilepsy and Medication Management delivery.
Our charity runs specialist services for autistic people, people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex needs. We work across Hampshire, South East England, London, Hertfordshire, East Anglia and Shropshire.
This is an exciting time for us, as Avenues Group also now includes Autism Hampshire – a leading Hampshire based charity supporting autistic people and their families.
The role is Monday to Friday and is a hybrid role being based at home as well as a requirement to work from our Sidcup office 1- 2 days per week, where training delivery permits. Due to the varying needs of some of the people we support, there may be an additional requirement to deliver bespoke training for some of our services, which may require overnight accommodation.
Due to the size and geographical location of our workforce, the majority of training will be delivered virtually, therefore you will need to be competent in designing and delivering effective training by this platform.
What are we looking for?
* Hold a training or teaching related qualification
* Minimum of one year’s experience of identifying, designing, delivering and evaluating high quality specialist learning to groups and individuals
* Good knowledge and understanding of Autism, Epilepsy and Medication Management, with the ability to train, coach and role model best practice in these areas
* Experience of using appropriate IT suite and level of programmes associated with the role, including Microsoft Office – Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams and Zoom
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence in public speaking and presentations
* Excellent interpersonal skills including relationship building, influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders
* Hold a full valid driving licence and access to own car
Please refer to the role profile for full responsibilities and experience, knowledge and skills needed to be considered for this role.
