Location: Manchester
Salary: £25,809 - £43,397 plus Teacher Pension, based on qualifications and experience

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Construction / Plumbing Tutor to join a thriving college with an Ofsted rating of "Good". This is a permanent, full-time position (37 hours per week). In this role, you will oversee and lead your curriculum area, meeting budget, quality, and operational targets. You will deliver high-quality, learner-focused education in a supportive environment to help your students succeed.

Key Responsibilities of the Plumbing Tutor:
• Teach and support the delivery and assessment of learning within your curriculum area.
• Develop lesson plans in alignment with the Scheme of Work to meet curriculum best practices and quality targets.
• Contribute to and enhance the curriculum to address local and national priorities.
• Ensure the safeguarding of learners.
• Maintain accurate learner records in accordance with data protection and organisational policies.
• Adhere to organisational and stakeholder policies and procedures.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay aligned with sector best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and clients as appropriate.
• Plan, lead, and develop the curriculum area to comply with the national curriculum framework, integrating functional skills, best practices, and quality targets.
• Manage the day-to-day delivery team according to organisational policies and procedures.
• Mentor new tutors and lead in delivering and accrediting learner-focused programmes.
• Report accurately and promptly on funding and compliance activities.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required for the Plumbing Tutor

• Teaching/assessing qualification and subject-specialist qualification at Level 4 (or Level 5 with new standards), with a commitment to achieving the relevant outstanding Level 4 (or Level 5) qualification within a specified timeframe.
• Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Proven track record of effective teaching and delivery in Plumbing.
• Vocational experience in Plumbing, ideally with a minimum of 5 years’ recent experience.
Desirable:
• Positive team collaboration and contribution to planning and development processes.
• Accurate and timely reporting and record-keeping.
• Development of a motivated and flexible delivery team.
• Achievement of delivery targets and plans.
• High learner satisfaction.
