Financial Controller
Based: Blackburn
Salary: up to £80k + bonus + great benefits including private medical, discounts, free parking and more
Our client is a rapidly expanding service & retail business based in Blackburn. Having experienced huge growth since their inception 20 years ago, they are now a market-leader in their industry based from state of the art offices in the Lancashire area. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a people-focused Financial Controller to join the team. You must have strong month end, cash, balance sheet knowledge whilst being a proven leader
Role:
* Direct line management of a team of 4, indirect circa 12 both qualified and transactional finance
* Lead and manage deliver of month end and year end audit
* Highlighting and delivering continuous improvements, working with the project teams to implement across finance
* Preparing statutory financial statements, planning and management of the audit
* Delivering group support, providing leadership to the transactional finance team
* Implementing internal controls, ensuring compliance across IFRS16, sales, month end reporting and more
* Financial reporting duties on cash to revenue, balance sheet, cashflow
* Business partnering with wider business & finance, involvement in projects to support growth and deliver better efficiencies
Experience:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 6 years PQE
* Strong and proven team leadership experience
* Technical finance experience across month end, audit, balance sheet
* IFRS16 experience extremely desirable
* Experience from a large/complex business essential
* Strong communication skills and ability to adapt in a changing business environment
