The SSEN-Distribution business is undergoing a significant period of change, including a large-scale transformation programme known as The Bridge Programme. The Bridge Programme aims to ’rewire’ the entire end-to-end business to transform Distribution into a customer-centric, digitally-enabled, industry leader.
Reporting to the Bridge Programme’s Communications Lead, the Communications and Engagement Manager will be responsible for the delivery and execution of the Bridge Programme’s communications strategy. You will work alongside a second Communications and Engagement Manager to ensure each of the programme’s stakeholder groups is well-supported through tailored and targeted communications and engagement activity.
In this role you will:
* Be responsible for the delivery of the programme’s communication and engagement strategy through the creation of content and collateral to support the programme’s Change and Delivery Teams.
* Act as a key point of contact and support for the Change Network, enabling these colleagues to be the local, trusted voices of the programme through the provision of cascade packs, key message summaries, and tailored communication support to drive change adoption and reduce uncertainty.
* Assist the Communications lead as required and work in partnership with the programme’s second Communications and Engagement Manager to ensure the team’s effectiveness.
* Support ongoing stakeholder analysis to enable targeted communications that support business readiness and define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication and engagement efforts.
* Work closely with the wider Transformation Communications team to ensure message alignment and appropriate ’air traffic control’ for colleagues to minimise the impact of multiple change programmes and business priorities.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
* Extensive experience in Communications and Engagement planning and delivering to multiple audiences and stakeholder groups.
* The ability to turn complex technical language into messaging appropriate for the audience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
* Ability to work at pace and adapt to changing priorities, requirements and circumstances
* Proficiency in engaging and building relationships with key stakeholders.
* Collaborative mindset and preference for working as part of a close-knit team.
Previous experience of change communications, transformation programme communications, and/or programme management knowledge would be beneficial.
