Job Title: Family Solicitor
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a highly motivated Family Solicitor for our client, a prestigious law firm based in Chelmsford. This role is ideal for a newly qualified solicitor (NQ) up to 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) who is looking to advance their career in a supportive and dynamic legal environment.
About the Role As a Family Solicitor, you will join a well-established team, handling a diverse caseload across various areas of family law. Your responsibilities will include:
* Divorce: Advising and representing clients through all stages of divorce proceedings.
* Financial Remedy: Managing financial disputes and settlements, including complex asset division.
* Private Law Child Arrangements: Handling cases involving child custody, visitation rights, and other arrangements.
* Occupation/Non-Molestation Orders: Assisting clients with applications for protective orders.
* TOLATA (Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act): Advising on property disputes between cohabiting couples.
* Schedule 1 Children Act: Representing clients in applications concerning financial provision for children.
* Pre and Post Marital or Civil Partnership Agreements: Drafting and advising on agreements to protect clients’ interests.
* Cohabitee Agreements and Separation Agreements: Advising on and drafting agreements for cohabiting partners and those separating.
About You To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* Experience: Newly Qualified to 3 years PQE in family law, with a strong understanding of the above areas.
* Qualifications: A qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a valid practising certificate.
* Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills. The ability to manage a busy caseload effectively and empathetically.
* Attributes: A client-focused approach with a commitment to providing high-quality legal services. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
