Job Description:
Summary Being a Visitor Experience Officer is all about people - connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.
If you love working with all kinds of people, and you’re excited by the Trust’s cause to protect and care for places so that people and nature can thrive, then this could be the job for you.
This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You’ll work 1800 hours over the duration of the contract, and on average, you can expect to work 5 days per week for 40 weeks of the year and 3 days per week for the remainder.
This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.
What it’s like to work here Reporting to the Visitor Operations & Experience Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of developing our visitor experience at Canons Ashby, inspiring others to exceed visitors’ expectations by ensuring the consistent quality of our customer service and the unique stories that we tell.
What you’ll be doing As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. You’ll assist the Visitor Operations & Experience Manager in the running of daily operations on the site. You’ll lead, and motivate others and utilise your experience in delivering solutions that support the visitor journey. You’ll manage multiple ventures, ranging from one off events and ongoing programmes to incident management working both indoors and outdoors. You’ll assist with the day-to-day operations with assigned accountability for certain activities. You’ll work within specified procedures, using judgement in problem solving, and also in the organisation and prioritisation of work.
You’ll have a ’hands-on’ operational role which will include duty management. You’ll be included on a rota for duty management where you’ll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint. In this role the usual commitment is 3-5 days per month. Dates are given a year in advance.
