We are currently recruiting a Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team at our new St Helens Operation Centre

As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for providing a physical inspection of vehicles. The information gathered is reported through an electronic form (DTLE), which is reviewed by the Vehicle Image Engineers to provide the customer with a fully detailed vehicle appraisal report.
As part of this Vehicle Damage Assessor role, you will have the opportunity to undertake additional career development and obtain a recognised motor engineering qualification (ATA VDA).
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that physical vehicle examinations and inspections (DTLE’s) are carried out in accordance with Copart’s standards
* Investigating and providing important information to Copart’s Engineering Teams
* Liaising with insurance companies and processing requests regarding additional vehicle information
* Operating a handheld device to document vehicle information and imagery
* Maintaining excellent service levels
* Communicating and collaborating information with colleagues within the operating centres and Head Office
* Following Health & Safety and Company guidelines, to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
* Reporting any issues preventing the efficient completion of duties to the Engineering Service Manager
What we need from you:
* Experience of motor vehicles and familiarity with all types of damage and repair methods
* Knowledge of basic legal vehicle road worthiness requirements under the Road Traffic Act are required for this Trainee Vehicle Inspector role
* Ability to interpret degrees of damage and possible consequences
* Strong Microsoft Office skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
