Job Description:
I am currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join an Ofsted ’GOOD’ SEN School in Guildford, starting ASAP. . The roles will be full-time, long-term, supporting various aspects of education (all classroom based), 1:1 and group learning for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils (11 to 16 years old), the school caters for children & young people with SEMH and additional Learning Difficulties / Special Educational Needs.. . Location: Highgate (GU5). Duration: Long Term. Pay: £90-£100 (depending on experience). Start Date: Immediate. Contract: Monday - Friday (Full-Time). . The successful applicants will have: . · Experience of working with or caring for children or young people (either Primary or Secondary, mixed gender). · Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals or SEN. · Excellent Behaviour Management skills. · A calm, patient manner and ability to react positively to a fast-changing environment. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents/careers. · Ability to competently use a computer and the Internet (Word, Excel & PowerPoint). · An Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service. . The role will consist of:. · Providing support to pupils to achieve varied learning objectives . · Assisting Class teachers to support a broad-based, appropriate curriculum. · Establishing productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations. · Monitoring and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives. · Being aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and report to the teacher as agreed. · Delivering learning activities to pupils within agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses and needs. · Supporting all staff in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate. · Being prepared to attend appropriate training courses.
