Job Description:
Finance Director | £120,000-140,000 + bonus + equity | Manchester
We are partnering with a leading professional services business based in Manchester city centre in their search for a Finance Director. Currently at c.£10m turnover, the company is gearing up for a capital transaction in the next 18 months and seeks a commercially-minded individual with a value creation outlook to drive business strategy and direction in preparation for this event and beyond.
The role will suit an ambitious, hands-on individual looking for an all-compassing Finance Director role in a growing, people-centric business where values and culture come first.
Responsibilities will include:
* Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities
* Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with its long-term goals and objectives. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Managing Director and Board of Directors
* Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling processes. Monitor and analyse financial performance against targets and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
* Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements
* Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Present financial results to management teams and the Board of Directors
* Manage capital allocation, including capital raising, investment strategies, and cash flow optimisation
* Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions. Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure the company’s financial health and strategic goals.
* Oversee accounting, tax, and audit functions, ensuring compliance with all accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Working with the Director of M&A, evaluate potential M&A opportunities, conduct due diligence, and support financial negotiations and integration efforts
* Manage and execute all financial aspects of the next exit event, including financial modelling, data preparation, financial due diligence and negotiation of terms
* Ensure the company’s financial practices adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Finance Director with experience in scaling a business as well as preparing and supporting through a significant capital event. A background in professional services/ people-related businesses would be highly beneficial. The role will suit a commercially focussed individual with the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and make an impact across the organisation.
