Finance Assistant
Up to £30,000
Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire (Hybrid Working)
Elevation Recruitment Group are searching for a career driven and ambitious Finance Assistant to join one of the largest construction businesses in the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a FTSE 100 listed business, reporting directly into the Finance Manager and taking ownership of transactional processing whilst benefiting from mentoring on month end, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the finance mailbox and respond to queries promptly
* Collaborate with the Accounts Clerk to monitor the invoices mailbox and handle queries efficiently
* Process payments ensuring required approvals are in place
* Record transactions in various ledgers including the Cash Book, General Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and Sales Ledger
* Update the Advances spreadsheet and process related transactions
* Perform bank reconciliations and prepare VAT return submissions
* Ensure financial accuracy through monthly ledger reviews and balance sheet reconciliations
* Enter and reconcile site data
* Maintain and update the schedule of sites for transfer to regional business units and initiate transfers as needed
* Analyse financial data related to option write-offs, abortive spend, sundry spend, and pre-acquisition spend
* Update the redundant asset portfolio schedule each month
* Assist the Finance Manager with monthly reporting
* Assist in preparing JV statutory accounts
* Support the preparation and consolidation of regional forecasts and budget
