About the Role
Base Location: Havant or Reading
Salary: £33,500-£50,300 + performance-related bonus and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available | Need To Cover Key Business Operational Hours 08:00AM - 18:00PM | Out Of Hours Support Including Weekends When Required
We are embedding agility in our ways of working, building capability for a digital SSE of the future, and meeting the needs of our customers in a new way.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will provide technical understanding and support to the Cloud DevOps team, who deliver enabling change across the SSE cloud platform.
Key responsibilities for the role will include:
- Working with business stakeholders throughout the whole cloud lifecycle, under direction providing comprehensive support to transform and modernise their application portfolios. 
- Partnering with Product Owners and management with direction to manage and clearly article demand planning and delivery against the projected backlog and book of work.
- Identifying and progressing opportunities to drive continuous improvement across engineering, delivery, and operational practices.
To be successful in this role, we would love you to have:
- End to end understanding of cloud systems architecture and design.
- Previous experience of working within Cloud or DevOps Engineering.
- In-Depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure preferred, with potentially AWS as well.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform or Azure Resource Management templates. Experience of solutions prominent in the DevOps toolchain i.e. Jenkins, GitHub, Argo. Exposure to Configuration Management Solutions such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef. Practical use and understanding of scripting languages such as Python or Go. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Podman or alternate containerization technologies aligned to the CNCF.
- Knowledge of operating system fundamentals including diagnostics, tuning and monitoring of IO, Networks, CPU and Memory.
